What qualifies Nina? Of course, there are the formal parts — growing up speaking English, being educated in English, and even dreaming in English. But there’s also so much more. Nina has lived and worked in many different countries, immersing herself in cultures and communities that have shaped the way she sees language and connection.
Her curiosity about languages runs deep: how English brings people together, how cultures shape the way we speak and understand each other. From childhood in South Africa, spending time with the Zulu culture, to learning from her father’s Portuguese heritage and her mother’s British roots, and later, through marriage, navigating the rich variety of Swiss dialects and traditions — every stage of her life has added a new layer of insight.
Yes, Nina holds two master’s degrees, and formal study and research are part of her path. But what truly defines her is the blend of study with real-life experiences, stories, and encounters. It’s this unique mix that brings her — and those she works with — one step closer to their own goals and dreams.
